Cattlemen's Boot Camps provide Angus breeders and commercial producers the
ability to learn further about all segments of our ever-changing beef industry.
These comprehensive educational programs address a wide range of beef cattle
production topics. Examples of topics addressed in previous Boot Camps include
herd health, nutrition, genetic selection, live evaluation, carcass value,
marketing, reproduction, source verification, customer service, feed efficiency
and utilization of performance data. Practical hands-on training skill labs help
illustrate procedures and proper use of tattoo, freeze brand, ultrasound and
artificial insemination (AI) equipment.
To offer this invaluable educational program to as many beef cattle
producers as possible, Cattlemen's Boot Camps are held at universities and
agricultural college campuses throughout the country. University faculty serve
as presenters with staff from the American Angus Association.
