Angus Enthusiast Tee-Up for the Ninth Annual Golf Tournament - Sunshine and an alligator kept things interesting for the 45 players that took to the greens to support the Angus Foundation. Taking a break from the activities of the show, young and old golfers alike came out to support the Angus Foundation at its 9th Annual Golf Tournament, held at Houston Lake Country Club in Perry, Ga.

Angus Foundation Silent Auction Has Something for Everyone - Angus supporters of all ages came together at the National Junior Angus Show (NJAS) in Perry, Georgia, to support the 2009 Angus Foundation Silent Auction July 20-25, which grossed more than $9,600 in proceeds benefiting the Foundation’s education, youth and research activities. Individual donors and state Angus associations contributed 71 items to the 14th annual auction.

Sinclair Cattle Company to Donate 2010 Angus Foundation Heifer - The Angus Foundation announced today that Jeff Ward and Duncan Smith, owners of Sinclair Cattle Company, Warfordsburg, Pa., will donate the 2010 Angus Foundation Heifer, set to sell in January 2010 at the National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colo.

Dameron Selected to Represent Angus at YCC - Jeff Dameron, Normal, Ill., has been selected to represent the American Angus Association® at the 2009 National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) Young Cattlemen’s Conference (YCC). The Angus Foundation will sponsor Dameron’s registration and travel expenses. This is the seventh year the Angus Foundation has funded an Association member to attend YCC.

Canyon Creek Angus LLC Purchases the 2009 Angus Foundation Heifer Package - Ronald and Myki Simek, owners of Canyon Creek Angus LLC, Cody, Wyo., bid $92,500 on Jan. 15 to purchase the 2009 Angus Foundation Heifer, donated by Chris McCutchen owner of Limestone LLC, in Perkins, Okla. More than $1.3 million has been raised from this Angus Foundation fundraising activity since its inception in 1980.

M J B Ranch Purchases the 2008 Angus Foundation Heifer Package - Mike R. Bowlin, owner of M J B Ranch, Weatherford, Texas, bid $60,000 on Jan. 17 to purchase the 2008 Angus Foundation Heifer Package, donated by Jud and Jeff Baldridge, owners of Baldridge Bros. in North Platte, Neb.

Angus Enthusiasts Enjoy Fun and Fellowship at 7th Annual Golf Tournament - The sun finally broke through the clouds to welcome Angus enthusiasts as they took to the greens during the 7th Annual Angus Foundation Golf Tournament at the Forest Ridge Golf Club in Broken Arrow, Okla. "Supportive Angus breeders, allied industry interests and friends enabled us to have another successful golf tournament to raise funds for the Angus Foundation's education, youth and research activities," notes Angus Foundation President Milford Jenkins. In total, this year's tournament grossed $20,545 in proceeds to benefit the Angus breed.

Angus Foundation Wins Communication Award - The Angus Foundation was honored June 19 for excellence in producing publications and communication projects. It received several awards at the annual meeting of the National Agricultural Alumni and Development Association (NAADA) in Madison, Wis.

Angus Foundation Heifer Package Sells for $97,500 in Denver - A standing-room only crowd looked on as Angus enthusiasts bid on the 2005 Angus Foundation Heifer Package, Thursday, January 13 in the Beef Palace Auction Arena at the National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colo. LaGrand Angus Ranch, Freeman, S.D., made the final bid and purchased the package for $97,500. Shoulderbone Plantation, White Plains, Ga., was the contending bidder.

Supporters Gather in Ohio for "That Old Black Magic" - Goblins and ghouls didn't keep more than 300 supporters from near and far from gathering at Summitcrest Farms, Summitville, Ohio, for a bewitching Angus Foundation fundraiser, "That Old Black Magic" Gala and Auction. Hosted by Fred and Betty Johnson and co-coordinated by Julie McMahon French and Wynn Dalton Herbers, the event on October 31 and its fund raising activities generated more than $69,000 in gross receipts.
